Cosmology Chat! We won't ever shy away from a catch up with our fellow skincare enthusiasts. For those who know the brand and for those who are new, we're offering some light reading all about Cosmology Skincare, breaking down some key facts about our ranges, who is the genius behind our coveted formulas and some background on the place we call home.
C for Cosmeceutical:
Cosmology Skincare products are both therapeutic and cosmetic! We put the C in Cosmeceutical as all our products are backed with science, research and a whole lot of love. We developed each range to get you results, quickly. Cosmeceutical skincare is for those who want to get serious about achieving their skin goals. Target fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, pigmentation, acne, dehydration, and many other concerns. The ingredients that are typically found in cosmeceutical products are Peptides, Vitamin A, Lactic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Retinol and Antioxidants. As these ingredients are so active, sometimes we need to ease into them and let our skin adjust. A few Cosmology favourites that are highly active and will achieve your skin dreams are our Resurfacing Serum, Active A Serum, and the Brightening Serum.
O for Owned and Operated in Australia:
Our headquarters are based on the sunny Gold Coast, small team making a big difference in the confidence of women across the world. Step out of our office and straight onto the golden sand of Kirra Beach. Our products are developed in Victoria, where our founder, Gabrielle, visits regularly to work with mixologists on the formulas of Cosmology Skincare products. Gabrielle owns and operates two skin clinics on the Gold Coast and skin health is her passion. Visit the clinics and you’ll no doubt see Gabrielle in treatment rooms or welcoming you with that beautiful smile of hers. While you’re there, pick up some Cosmology Skincare which is stocked at both clinics. Gabrielle’s knowledge and dedication to women’s confidence is evident in every aspect of her business.
S for Sun Damaged Skin:
One of our big focuses at Cosmology Skincare is the protection and treatment of skin damaged by the sun. As you’ve read above, we are based in Australia and the sun here is intense, it can be very destructive to our skin. We LOVE spending time on our beautiful beaches but it’s a double-edged sword, beautiful tan or prematurely ageing skin!? The UV rays from the sun damage the DNA in our skin cells. Pigmentation is rife where we live, followed closely by fine lines and wrinkles from signs of early ageing. However, no matter where you live you should always be protecting your skin from the sun. Our favourites for this are the UV Defense Moisturiser, Brightening Serum and the Resurfacing Gel Cleanser.
M for Medical Grade:
Circling back to cosmeceutical, medical grade means that the active ingredients in cosmeceutical skincare are at a much higher concentration than other typical retail skincare products. This type of skincare really gets to the root of the problem with your skin, instead of only treating the surface layers. They are tailored to specific skin problems and skin types, medical grade products are also more durable and use more stabilised ingredients. The deeper penetration of these ingredients allows access to the dermis layer of the skin, where the elastin and collagen is produced. Medical-grade skincare is very effective at repairing the skin’s barrier and preventing further damage as they add an extra layer of protection. Medical grade means optimal results.
O for Oils:
Oils are essential ingredients when it comes to effective and quality skincare. You’ll find two very important oils in some of the Cosmology Skincare products; Jojoba Oil and Rosehip Oil.
Jojoba Oil is a humectant ingredient, meaning it draws water to the top layer of the skin and helps with hydration. It also works as an antibacterial – killing some types of bacteria and fungi. It contains natural forms of Vitamin E which is an antioxidant, protecting the skin from the oxidative stress caused by daily pollutants and toxins. These are only a few benefits of Jojoba!
Rosehip Oil is fantastic for brightening your complexion, breaking down unwanted pigmentation, hydrating and exfoliating the skin. It also works to boost the production of collagen as it contains a high level of Vitamin A. If you suffer from inflammation like rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis then Rosehip Oil will help to reduce this as it contains both polyphenols and anthocyanin.
Believe it or not, if you have an oily skin type you can still use these oils! Jojoba Oil specifically actually controls sebum production in the skin, meaning you can prevent an over oily complexion that is smooth and hydrated.
L for Loving You:
The Cosmology Skincare revolution is #NakedConfidence. Naked Confidence means believing in yourself worth, refusing to seek validation from those around, accepting yourself as you are, carrying self-awareness with grace, surrounding yourself with positive people, and never following the rules. It means being completely comfortable in the skin you were born in. Of course, we can treat our skin to improve and enhance it, but not to change the essence of you. Naked Confidence is the Cosmology Skincare revolution, we want you to join us and be confident in your skin, always.
O for Overall Skin Health:
Once we put all of the pieces together of your skin concerns and what products are needed, we can start to see the overall health of the skin improve a lot. Radiant complexions and glowing skin come from the persistence and patience of a skincare routine designed for your specific needs. We also encourage you to see how you can ‘feed’ your skin with the diet you choose, the foods we eat can drastically effect our skin health. Drink plenty of water too, hydrated from the inside means hydrated on the outside. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. So, be dedicated on this skin journey of yours. The discipline, time and money spent is so worth it, good skin brings out good self-confidence. Makeup free and thriving in your #NakedConfidence.
G for Gabrielle:
Gabrielle Singh is the owner and founder of Cosmology Skincare. You will struggle to find a more passionate and knowledgeable founder who truly cares and advocates for women’s self-confidence. Gabrielle had her own skin battles in her early 20’s and understood how much it affected confidence and self-esteem. Her journey to becoming the owner of one of Australia’s most prominent skincare brands has been one of determination to help women (and men) all over the world to improve and feel good in their skin. Cosmology Skincare is one of three other businesses that Gabrielle owns. Her skin clinic, GC Skin Boutique, has two locations on the Gold Coast (Kirra and Surfers Paradise) and stocks Cosmology Skincare. The products perfectly compliment the treatments offered in clinic.
Y for You Have To Commit:
We are going to commit with you on this skin journey. Healthy and radiant skin doesn’t happen overnight, you must be consistent and persistent while sticking to your routine. We are more than happy to be the nagger in this situation because we want you to achieve your skin goals…come on, it makes us look good too! We will never bombard you with a million different serums or moisturisers that need to be applied on the hour every hour and stored in a small fridge in your room which is to be regulated at a specific temperature and changed only on Sundays (LOL). Complicated routines are just not sustainable, we like to apply the KISS principle and recommend products that will give you results and fit into your lifestyle.
We all strive for youthful skin! This is achieved with quality products, commitment and a regime that specifically targets your individual skin concerns. It’s an individual journey! If you are unsure which of the Cosmology Skincare products are right for you, we have a quick and easy skin questionnaire on our website that will take you right to the products you need and should pop in that shopping basket.
