Welcome back to Her Skin, our favourite Q & A with our favourite Cosmology girls. Zoe Hoad is an Australian model, influencer and creative. She reps the cutest pixie haircut and has that rockstar image, along with a ridiculous glow and complexion. She featured in our first campaign, the initial release of Cosmology skincare, so we definitely have a soft spot for Zo Zo. She exudes effortless style with a touch of quirkiness and has a smile that lights up any room. We were dying to catch up with Zoe to see how she was going with the products from our range and to also get her skin journey to date.
WHEN DID YOUR LOVE OF HEALTHY SKIN BEGIN?
Being a model requires constant application and removal of heavy makeups and mixed inconsistent products… so quality skincare has always been a huge part of maintaining healthy skin.
HOW HAS YOUR SKIN JOURNEY BEEN SINCE THEN?
Luckily I’ve never had problematic skin, however I do my best to keep my skin strong and in a state of constant regeneration to prevent signs of ageing. Or: skin needling, light therapy, SPF 50+ daily, vitamin C, good sleep and oral collagen products.
HAVE YOU EVER STRUGGLED WITH YOUR SKIN?
Not so much with acne or pimples, but I definitely have my personal concerns with ageing, pigmentation, gradual fine lines. In saying that It’s important to see the beauty of ageing because the process is inevitable.
BIGGEST BELIEFS WITH SKINCARE?
I do my best to educate myself (ongoing) regarding my skin health. I believe whatever is within will show on the outer. So if I am healthy and clean on the inside, my skin will always reflect that. I have an alkaline orientated diet, I take vitamins, and always make sure my immune system is not compromised. Hydration is a HUGE contributor to overall health. Most people are dehydrated. I drink 1 gallon of filtered water a day, and I notice my skins lack of elasticity and vibrancy when I don’t.
WHAT’S A TYPICAL SKIN ROUTINE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
Vitamin C is important for my pigmentation concerns + a natural hydrating oil for the evening + light therapy weekly + skin needling monthly + minimum exfoliation (once a week), and last but not least SPF 50+ daily.
FAVOURITE PRODUCTS IN THE COSMOLOGY RANGE?
I love the Purifying Charcoal Cleanser. It’s hard to find a great cleanser between textural favouritism and feeling genuinely clean! The charcoal face wash is a great makeup remover or an everyday cleanser followed by the Active C Serum.
