The Brighteners – win the war on pigmentation
We’re coming into Winter here in Australia and it’s the perfect time to start targeting your pigmentation problems. You’ll find it’s a losing battle if you tackle this mid-Summer. Our harsh seasons and relentless heat provide the ideal domain for melasma and other types of pigment to emerge and take over your complexion, cue the patchy brown spots that spread rapidly across the central part of your face, ugh. If you already suffer from pigmentation, then you will know that heat makes it worse tenfold! It’s safe to say that the 1.5 seconds you spend in the sun fuels the pigmentation fire, it flares up that fast! Prominent on the upper lip, cheeks and forehead, pigmentation can really rattle your confidence. We’ve designed a range of products that are your warriors in this war! They help to actually decrease the pigment and then maintain your new clearer and brighter complexion with special AHA acids, tyrosine inhibitors and intense sun protection in the form of a physical sunscreen. Meet, The Brighteners….
1. Silk Enzyme Cleanser – we’ve said it once and we’ll say it again – always double cleanse. We feel cleansers take the back seat and it’s a stigma we want to break. Washing your face with a quality cleanser will allow your skin to absorb the active ingredients in the products you apply after. A key to glowing skin and to even out your complexion is to use an exfoliant, our Silk Enzyme Cleanser uses a combination of acids and active ingredients to cleanse AND exfoliate at the same time. Perfect for pairing with your pigment fighting serum and moisturiser.
2. The Brightening Serum – the name says it all! This serum was produced and designed specifically for those that suffer from pigment. It’s high levels of Tyrosinase Inhibitors are powerful against pigment production. Tyrosinase is an enzyme that is responsible for the production of melanin. This production of pigment is the skin’s defence mechanism when it experiences trauma, such as heat, picking and scratching of acne and other inflammation. Our Brightening Serum includes the right ingredients to prevent the skin going into defence mode and creating those dark patches.
3. UV Defense Moisturiser – while you are treating pigmentation and even when you hit the desired result with your complexion, you need to be extremely vigilant with sun protection. As we know, the sun aggravates and causes pigmentation. We’re talking reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours, using a hat and staying under an umbrella if you hit the beach. The UV Defense Moisturiser not only creates a physical barrier from the sun (acting as a sunscreen), it also subs as a moisturiser giving intense hydration, calming properties and nourishment.
So there you have it, our top 3 products to successfully dimmish pigmentation. The sooner you start the better, you’ll be setting your skin up for a more even glow in Summer!
